Our client is seeking a Medium Voltage Electrical Systems Specialist to support its industrial gas production facilities across Texas. This specialist will be the regional authority for 15kV–35kV distribution, switchgear, protective relays, and power system reliability, ensuring safe, continuous operation of mission‑critical assets.
You’ll partner with plant engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to troubleshoot complex electrical issues, lead outage planning, and drive long‑term system improvements across multiple sites.
Responsibilities:
- Lead medium‑voltage system troubleshooting for switchgear, breakers, transformers, and distribution equipment
- Perform root‑cause analysis on electrical failures and implement corrective actions
- Oversee protective relay testing, coordination studies, and arc‑flash compliance
- Support planned outages, energization procedures, and commissioning of new MV equipment
- Develop and maintain electrical safety procedures aligned with NFPA 70E and Linde standards
- Conduct power quality analysis, load studies, and system health assessments
- Train technicians and operators on MV equipment operation and safe work practices
- Manage vendor relationships for testing, maintenance, and emergency response
- Ensure documentation accuracy: one‑lines, schematics, relay settings, and maintenance records
Qualifications:
- 5 years working with medium‑voltage electrical distribution systems in industrial environments
- Strong knowledge of switchgear, protective relays, transformers, and breaker maintenance
- Experience with power system analysis tools (ETAP, SKM, or similar)
- Ability to lead complex troubleshooting and coordinate multi‑site electrical work
- Working knowledge of NFPA 70E, NEC, and electrical safety best practices
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent industrial electrical experience
Salary : $95,000 - $115,000
