Our client is searching for a Human Resources Generalist who will manage daily HR operations, provides guidance and support to manufacturing and administration and acts as a liaison between associates, managers, and leadership to ensure smooth operations and a positive workforce.
This role spans the full associate lifecycle with a focus on supporting a high-performance, safety-first production environment. The HR Generalist administers a variety of functional areas including recruiting, associate onboarding, timekeeping, payroll management and processing, associate relations, safety, leave management, and benefits administration.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work closely with production management to ensure associate staffing, training and performance aligns with production objectives.
- Manage full-cycle recruitment of hourly production associates, including postings, applicant reviews, scheduling/interviewing, background checks, and onboarding.
- Facilitate new hire orientations and coordinate technical or safety training required for plant operations.
- Administer and process weekly and semi-monthly payrolls, including resolving payroll discrepancies promptly.
- Manage automated timekeeping system to track and review work hours and attendance, resolving exceptions and missed punches.
- Process garnishments, child support orders, 401k loans, and unemployment claims.
- Serve as the first point of contact for HR, payroll, benefits, and associate relations questions.
- Address associate concerns promptly, conduct investigations, and resolve issues in alignment with management, company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with STD/FMLA/ADA leave management and coordinate with 3rd party provider.
- Maintain associate attendance records, points, and corrective action documentation.
- Manage safety shoe reimbursement program and associate referral bonus program.
- Track performance reviews and probationary periods, and provide insight and support to managers on disciplinary actions and terminations.
- Update and maintain HR, Benefits and Wellness Associate communications in plant and common areas.
- Plan and manage location events, morale boosters, and community engagement activities.
- Maintain OSHA logs, workers compensation and safety reporting, and participate in HR conference calls.
- Participate in quarterly safety committee meetings; maintain minutes and attendance.
- Track safety incidents, support corrective actions, and manage recognition programs.
- Track inventory, order and issue PPE to associates.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state employment regulation.
- Travel to another location required once a week.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or a related field preferred.
- Three or more years of progressive HR experience with proven success in manufacturing, operations, or industrial settings.
- Prior payroll processing experience required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
- Proficiency with HRIS, timekeeping and recruiting systems. Demonstrated knowledge of human resources processes.
- Ability to effectively interact with everyone from floor associates to leadership.
- Excellent written and verbal and communications skills.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Precision in maintaining associate records for safety, payroll and benefits administration.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, onsite environments where priorities shift based on production needs.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to manage confidential information, prioritize tasks and adapt to change.
- Understanding of state and federal employment laws.
- Understanding of OSHA regulations and compliance.
Salary : $65,000 - $70,000
