Summary:
This position runs through the 2025 calendar year. The Instructional Designer – Technical Writer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining engaging, accurate, and user-friendly technical documentation. This role bridges technical expertise with learning theory to produce materials such as work instructions, quick reference guides, and job aids for a range of audiences within the manufacturing industry.
Accountabilities:
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather technical information and translate it into clear and concise content.
- Develop and maintain training materials including SOPs, work instructions, process flows, troubleshooting documents, and instructional videos.
- Use documentation platforms (Adobe, Microsoft Word) to develop and publish content.
- Ensure consistency in tone, format, and terminology across all documentation and training assets.
- Maintain version control and documentation accuracy through regular audits and updates.
- Support project rollout and product launch efforts with training and reference documentation.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of instructional materials and revise content based on feedback and performance metrics.
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Technical Communication, Engineering, Education, or related field.
- 2 years of experience in technical writing, preferably in a technical, manufacturing, or engineering environment.
- Experience working in rapid growth companies.
- Strong writing, editing, and content structuring skills.
- Understanding of technical subject matter and the ability to translate complex information into learner-friendly formats.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.
