The Project Controls Coordinator IV (PCC) is responsible for developing and implementing project controls procedures, integrating cost and schedule functions, and ensuring quality oversight for all project controls deliverables. This role supports large-scale, multi-year capital construction projects valued at over $100 million and involving a high degree of complexity.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate the development, maintenance, and implementation of project controls cost deliverables in alignment with company policies and best practices.
- Establish and maintain a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) that supports project execution, cost control, and reporting requirements.
- Collect inputs for project cost estimates, establish control budgets, and perform ongoing monitoring of incurred costs, commitments, and forecasts.
- Conduct variance and earned value analyses and prepare cost reports for various stakeholders.
- Prepare and present accurate and timely reports, including:
- Cost and Variance Reports
- Cash Flow Reports and Variance Analyses
- Schedule Variance Analyses
- Project Change and Contingency Logs
- Monthly Project Status Reports
- Collaborate closely with schedulers and field controls analysts to ensure alignment between cost and schedule reporting.
- Engage stakeholders to review project costs, commitments, and forecasts regularly.
- Participate in team, stakeholder, and vendor meetings to stay informed of project changes in scope, cost, schedule, and progress.
- Prioritize multiple complex tasks effectively and adjust priorities as needed to meet departmental and company objectives.
- Liaise with the PMO, Capital Assets, and other departments on project-related responsibilities.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide recommendations for continuous improvement of project cost management processes.
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 10 years of relevant project controls experience in large capital or infrastructure projects.
- Strong knowledge of project cost control processes, reporting, and forecasting.
- Advanced analytical and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Knowledge and practical application of Earned Value Management (EVM).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
- High attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and reconciliation.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification.
- Experience with midstream pipeline and facility projects.
- Familiarity with project management best practices and capital project governance.
- Demonstrated ability to build productive relationships with vendors, service providers, and cross-functional teams.
