Work Schedule: 4 days in office (mandatory) , 1 day remote
Education
- BS Degree required
- Juris Doctorate from ABA accredited law school and a member of the Alabama State Bar (active license) with a minimum of 5 years' experience is strongly preferred
- Prior experience involving real estate litigation is strongly preferred.

- Title Searches: Conduct in-depth title searches to establish property ownership, identify encumbrances, and assess land rights and restrictions.
- Land Surveys: Oversee land survey projects, including boundary surveys, topographic surveys, and ALTA/NSPS surveys, ensuring precision and accuracy.
- Historical Deed Analysis: Analyze historical deeds, legal documents, and plats to create a comprehensive property ownership history.
- Land Records Management: Oversee the organization and management of land records, maintaining up-to-date information on property transactions and ownership.
- GIS and Spatial Analysis: Utilize Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and advanced mapping techniques to create spatial representations of land data and analyze geographic information.
- Zoning and Land Use Expertise: Provide expertise in local zoning regulations, land use codes, and comprehensive planning, advising clients on land development potential and regulatory compliance.
- Environmental Due Diligence: Conduct environmental research and due diligence to assess potential environmental concerns or regulatory compliance issues related to land use.
- Market Research: Perform in-depth market analysis and property valuation to assist clients in making informed investment decisions.
- Report Generation: Create detailed reports and summaries of research findings, often used in legal proceedings, real estate transactions, and land development projects.
- Client Consultation: Collaborate with clients, attorneys, developers, and other stakeholders to provide expert guidance based on research and analysis.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to local, state, and federal laws and regulations affecting land use, property transactions, and development projects.
- Project Management: Manage multiple research projects simultaneously, coordinating with a team of specialists and maintaining project timelines and budgets
- Bachelor's degree in geography, land surveying, geospatial sciences, real estate, or a related field.
- A master's degree may be preferred for advanced positions.
- 10 to 15 years of experience in land research, land surveying, or related fields.
- Expertise in title searches, land surveys, and the analysis of legal documents.
- Proficiency in GIS, mapping software, and spatial analysis techniques.
- In-depth knowledge of zoning regulations, land use codes, and environmental laws.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
