Job Summary
Description: JSerra Catholic High School Athletics Department is seeking a dedicated Assistant Coach to support the Boys Volleyball program. The Assistant Coach will help provide the necessary practice, guidance, and support for student-athletes, while fostering an environment of teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship consistent with the mission of JSerra. Responsibilities • Support the head coach in developing a culture and program structure that promotes healthy competition, spiritual and physical growth, team unity, and an overall enjoyable experience. • Assist in creating and executing seasonal practice and training plans, including pre-season activities. • Help with supervision and mentoring of athletes. • Assist in game-day management, including equipment preparation, set-up, and breakdown. • Take attendance and help communicate with players and parents about team activities. • Support program logistics such as transportation coordination and equipment needs. • Attend and participate in all practices, competitions, and program events as directed by the head coach.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail • Ability to work collaboratively with a coaching team • Demonstrates initiative, discipline, and enthusiasm for volleyball and mentoring student-athletes Education & Experience • Extensive knowledge and passion for the sport of volleyball, including CIF and NFHS rules and regulations • Previous coaching and/or competitive playing experience • Current certifications in CPR, Cardiac Emergencies, Heat Illness Prevention, Concussion training, and NFHS (must be completed prior to coaching) • Ability to follow professional guidelines set forth in CIF, JSerra Employee Handbook, and Athletics Manual
