What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Flag Football Coach position at JSerra Catholic High School?
Reports To: Head Coach Job Status: Seasonal, Exempt,
Up to 10 hours a week, 14 weeks, ($5,000 stipend)
Description: The Assistant Coach provides the necessary practice, support, and advice for the team using existing
expertise and skills in the sport. You should be able to identify the individual abilities of each player and provide
one-to-one coaching wherever required. To be successful as a flag football coach, you should demonstrate great
love for the game of flag football and be able to foster good sportsmanship in the players. Outstanding candidates
are highly motivated, committed, disciplined, patient and ready to compete at the highest level.

Primary Responsibilities
- Develop a culture and program structure that will support healthy competition, fostering spiritual, physical
- Communicate all team aspects to student-athletes/parents.
- Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
o Develop student-athletes to achieve a Varsity level.
o Equipment Manager – organizing, issuing, maintaining, and putting away of (ex. Balls, flags, etc.)
o Media Guide – assist parents with needs for media guide (pictures, athlete bios, due dates, etc.) ...
o Attend all team activities identified in the Girls Flag Football calendar.
o Take daily attendance – updating and identifying any issues.
o Professionalism as it relates to communication with athletes/parents, attire, language, attitude and
punctuality.
o Basic understanding of Girls Flag Football as it relates to clubs, time standards, and seasonal
calendars.
Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of high school athletics
- Previous playing/coaching experience is strongly recommended
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to work well with others
- Current certifications in CPR, Cardiac Emergencies, Heat Illness Prevention, Concussion training, and NFHS (all
- Follow professional guidelines set forth in JSerra Employee Handbook and Athletics Manual
