What are the responsibilities and job description for the Freight Broker position at Journey?
We are looking to fill a client's need at a growing freight brokerage seeking a relationship-driven sales professional to build and manage a book of business. This is a cradle-to-grave position: you will prospect, sell, quote your own freight, build and schedule loads, and secure carrier capacity, supported by an experienced operations and account management team. Our focus is on high-value, damage-sensitive, temperature-sensitive, and time-critical freight.
What You'll Do
- Generate your own leads through cold outreach, in-person visits, and video prospecting
- Sell freight and logistics services to SMB and middle-market shippers
- Quote freight, build and schedule loads, and secure carrier capacity
- Manage accounts end-to-end with a consultative approach to long sales cycles
- Build lasting customer relationships rooted in execution and service
What We're Looking For
- Experience selling freight, logistics, or transportation services
- A relationship-driven hunter comfortable with cold outreach and prospecting
- Strong communicator who values execution and customer service
- Understanding of consultative selling and long sales cycles
- Self-starter able to build and manage their own book of business

Partial Truckload (PTL), Temperature-Controlled LTL, Reefer Truckload, Dry Van Truckload, Expedited, Box Trucks, Hotshots, LTL, Drayage, Intermodal, International, and Heavy Haul (emerging).
