Volunteer and Community Outreach Coordinator

The Volunteer and Community Outreach Coordinator is a valuable member of Journey Home Animal Care Center. Volunteers support our staff with their work, time, and skills; so the Volunteer and Community Outreach Coordinator is vital to providing that assistance to our team.

Basic responsibilities of this position include:

• Volunteer data entry
• Volunteer recruitment and stewardship
• Conducting volunteer orientations and specialized trainings
• Making volunteer schedules and assigning necessary tasks
• Attending and helping with all fundraising events. Fundraising initiatives are all-hands-on-deck!
• Developing policies within the volunteer program to further improve the volunteer experience at JHACC
• Developing and organizing community outreach programs (youth summer camp, dog bite prevention, senior citizen outreach, educational visits)
• This position also works directly with the development team for all fundraising and marketing initiatives as directed by the Executive Director.
• This position reports to the Development Director, and works in tandem with the animal care teams as well as the front desk reception staff.
