Job Summary:
The Donor Relations Coordinator will engage donors and the community in advancing the organization's’ mission. The position supports and assists with executing all aspects of Journey Home Animal Care Center’s strategies including growth in new donor acquisition, increasing donor retention, benefits fulfillment, donor communications and engagement strategies. Assist with planning major events, and cultivating and fostering sponsorships. Other members of the Development Team will provide support and assist in reaching revenue and community stewardship goals. The Donor Relations Coordinator will report to the Development Director.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Correspond with and respond to donor inquiries and requests for information by phone, e-mail and postal mail.
· Update donor records to reflect communications or stewardship efforts.
· Monitor and support updates to donor databases to ensure that donations and donor information is accurate and up-to-date including contact information, notes and contact preferences. Merge and purge duplicate records.
· Work with marketing for planned giving campaigns.
· Support donor inquiries and service needs (account updates, payments, etc.)
· Manage, process and implement direct mail, annual tax acknowledgments, holiday cards and stewardship.
· Assist with planning and attending donor events.
· Support the monthly donor program by identifying and welcoming new monthly donors via welcoming emails. Assist in donor calls for updating, adding or canceling monthly gifts as needed.
· Coordinate and produce gift acknowledgment letters and other regular correspondence, including cards.
· Process donations and accurately enter records into the donor database (DonorPerfect).
· Perform clerical tasks such as filing, printing, stuffing, labeling, mailing letters, ordering and other related tasks.
· Manage and process all thank you letters within 48 hours of receiving them.
· Work closely with the Development Director to assist in donor-centered cultivation, stewardship and recognition.
· Collaborate with development/marketing team to develop all direct mail appeals, special campaigns, Colorado Gives Day campaign, monthly stewardship etc.
· Help identify and develop funding opportunities for JHACC
· Track and manage reports for different giving programs.
· Assist Development Director on special events planning, support, sponsorships and logistics for large fundraisers.
· Develop rapport with donors, business sponsors and non-monetary donors.
· Assist with stewardship management for donor’s Humane Heroes, mid-level and large donors.
· Perform donor retention practices and find new ways to further develop retention practices and engagement for donors.
· Attend JHACC major events and other events when additional staffing is needed.
· Answer phones and customer questions over the phone.
· Demonstrate courteous and friendly manner towards customers, co-workers, volunteers and donors on a daily and ongoing basis.
· Performs any other duties assigned by the Development Director
· Represents Journey Home Animal Care Center in a professional and courteous manner at all times.

Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
· High School diploma or equivalent required (Additional degree or equivalent work experience desired)
· Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

· Ability to complete task in fast-paced environment
· High level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to be self-motivated
· Valid Driver’s license or ID
· High level of skill or interest in learning MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other CRM- Data entry
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Performs work primarily in an office setting. Potentially prolonged periods of sitting and repetitive motions. May work with high noise level. Able to perform some physical work: Lifting, moving event supplies, handling animals and assembling industrial easy up tent. Also, must have the ability to lift and carry 50 pounds with assistance. May work in an area of high noise level. Potentially subject to animal bites and scratches. Exposure to cleaning chemicals, fumes, dust, animal dander and feces.
Schedule Requirements:
Part-time with possibility of full-time. Occasional weekend and evening work.

Pay: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour
