What are the responsibilities and job description for the Event Coordinator position at Journey Home Animal Care Center?
The Event Coordinator will engage the community in advancing Journey Home’s mission. The position supports and assists with events for education, fundraising, and adoption. Other members of the Development Team will provide support and assist in reaching revenue and community stewardship goals. The Event Coordinator will report to the Development Director.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Schedule and attend JHACC events (this includes internal, fundraising, adoption, external, and educational events)
- Partner with the Volunteer and Community Outreach Coordinator to assign volunteers to events and tasks as needed
- Encourage ticket sales and donations for upcoming events
- Work with the Development Team to put together major fundraising events and fundraising initiatives
- Put together reports on attendance and donations for recent events
- Review events afterwards to improve for the next year/event
- Connect with previous or potential event sponsors through phone, email, text, and in-person methods to maintain or grow sponsorships
- Answer questions from attendees
- Update local online calendars and event boards with upcoming events
Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
· High School diploma or equivalent required (Additional degree or equivalent work experience desired)
· Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
· Exemplary customer service skills
· Ability to maintain confidentiality
· Ability to complete task in fast-paced environment
· High level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to be self-motivated
· Valid Driver’s license or ID
· High level of skill or interest in learning MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other CRM- Data entry
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
Performs work primarily in an office setting. Potentially prolonged periods of sitting and repetitive motions. May work with high noise level. Able to perform some physical work: Lifting, moving event supplies, handling animals and assembling industrial easy up tent. Also, must have the ability to lift and carry 50 pounds with assistance. May work in an area of high noise level. Potentially subject to animal bites and scratches. Exposure to cleaning chemicals, fumes, dust, animal dander and feces.
Schedule Requirements:
Part-time. Occasional weekend and evening work.

Pay: $17.00 - $23.00 per hour
