Jones Plastic is looking for an experienced Tooling Engineer to join our growing team. Job Duties/Responsibilities include:
- Determine & identify quality issues as it relates to injection tools and injection process issues.
- Responsible for engineering, design, and repair of molds
- Responsible for developing and implementing alternative methods and solutions for repair of damaged and ineffective tools, as well as reviewing and revising maintenance requirements and methods for molds.
- Work with technicians, production workers and other manufacturing staff to ensure quality output of molded components.
- Develop and maintain a close working relationship with customers to ensure all specs and schedule demands are met.
- Establish injection tooling specs based on supplier-based equipment & requirements in order to secure quotes, design & manufacture injection tooling.
- Work closely with tool makers to meet tooling and schedule requirements.
- Evaluate and analyze new part designs and determine the most cost-effective method to produce the part and define the appropriate tooling.
- Evaluate outsourced tooling designs to ensure construction costs and lead times are within budgeted expectations.
- Debug and tryout new tools at Supplier facilities.
- Provide input for troubleshooting and continuous improvement of existing tools and develop potential cost savings to current production processes.
- Work with Purchasing to evaluate existing and potential Suppliers to define Suppliers capabilities.
- Keep Management and Tooling Group current with project status.
- Make final determination of tooling design to meet DFM.
Skills/Experience Required:
- Ability to manage multiple projects
- Ability to establish process parameters for new injection tooling.
- Ability to travel both domestic and international.
- Good to exceptional injection molding processing knowledge
- Extensive knowledge of injection tooling including design and development.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- CAD or similar 3D software experience
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point)
- Minimum of 5 years experience

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
