What are the responsibilities and job description for the Process Technician position at Jones Plastic and Engineering and Careers?
Williamsburg Plastics, a division of Jones Plastic & Engineering Co., LLC a custom injection molder, is looking for experienced Process Technicians.
PRIMARY DUTIES:
1) Prepare all material needed for production requirements of assigned shift and the first two hours of the following shift.
2) Mix material as indicated by Mold Book/Schedule, which may include virgin material, regrind, and/or colorant.
3) Clean and prepare dryer and dryer hoppers, as needed, for shift.
4) Dry material in time for production requirements, as indicated by production schedule and by monitoring mattec.
5) Keep all mixing equipment clean and stored in proper locations.
6) Follow schedule to ensure all change overs are done expediently and on time.
7) Do a walk through of the cell. Check material dryers to ensure they are turned on set properly.
8) Ensure hoppers and boxes on the production floor have adequate material and are marked and labeled properly
9) Check all loaders to make sure regrind is being used according to the process sheet or deviation.
10) Clean up all spilled material on and around molding machines and material mixing area.
11) Assist with recycling when needed.
12) Receive material and confirm proper silo is being used for unloading bulk material.
13) Store all material in approved manner and proper location.
14) Work with Gate Keeper to get material pulled from warehouse for all change overs.
15) Weigh and label all material returned to Gate Keeper so it can be put back into inventory.
16) Do crane and forklift inspection before using. Document inspection in log book.
17) Inspect slings, chains, eyebolts, and lifting eyelets before using.
18) Set up, install and remove molds, as instructed, ensuring the proper handling and storage of molds.
19) Prepare machines for start up, per set-up sheets.
20) Perform End of Run PM's as required before pulling out mold.
21) Follow mold tagging process before moving mold to storage location.
22) Maintain a neat, clean and orderly work area which includes, but is not limited to, mold storage or equipment areas.
23) Perform other duties as directed by Management
SKILLS, REQUIREMENTS AND EDUCATION REQUIRED
1. High school diploma or General Education Certificate (GED) and/or equivalent work history
2. Good processing and troubleshooting skills in injection molding – 4 to 5 years experience as a molder.
3. Good communication skills, oral and written; good organizational and interpersonal skills.
4. Must be able to work with minimum supervision
5. Computer skills preferred but not required.
6. Physical requirements:
a. Subjected to lifting fifty (50) pounds.
b. Repetitive bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, standing and sitting, with or without accommodation.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $28.00 per hour
