Position Overview
The HR Generalist supports the daily operations of the Human Resources department, including payroll processing, benefits administration, compliance, and employee relations. This role ensures accuracy in employee records and helps maintain a positive and compliant workplace culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Process biweekly payroll, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all applicable wage and hour laws.
- Maintain and update employee information in the HRIS to ensure accurate payroll and benefits data.
- Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollments, changes, and communication with employees.
- Support employee relations by addressing inquiries and assisting with conflict resolution in a professional manner.
- Conduct new hire orientations and ensure proper onboarding documentation is completed.
- Monitor compliance with company policies and federal, state, and local employment regulations.
- Assist with performance management processes and training and development initiatives.
- Prepare HR reports, support audits, and maintain confidential personnel files.
- Participate in HR projects, process improvements, and employee engagement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field required.
- 2–4 years of HR and payroll experience preferred; SHRM-CP, PHR, or FPC certification a plus.
- Strong understanding of payroll systems, HRIS, and employment law compliance.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and payroll software (Paycor).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
