Clear Water, a Jones Lake Management partner, located in Katy, TX is seeking a highly motivated Operator. The Operator is responsible for the daily operation of equipment in and around water. This includes mechanical removal of aquatic vegetation and debris using specialized aquatic equipment, operating heavy equipment such as mini excavators and skid steers, and hauling material in dump trucks. This position requires strong physical ability, a willingness to work outdoors in various conditions, and a commitment to safety and environmental compliance.
Operator Key Responsibilities:
- Operates equipment to mechanically harvest and remove vegetation, debris, and sediment as directed.
- May assist in basic aquatic chemical applications under supervision of licensed applicator, following all safety and compliance guidelines.
- Performs basic maintenance and inspection on all operating equipment and associated tools before and after each job.
- Follows environmental guidelines to minimize disruption to aquatic habitats.
- Uses proper techniques for loading, transporting, and securing equipment.
- Completes daily job logs, including work performed, site conditions, and equipment usage.
- Communicates any hazards, maintenance needs, or delays to supervisors immediately.
- Assists with mobilization and demobilization of job sites, including equipment loading/unloading.
- Maintains clean, organized tools and work area.
- Maintains a professional demeanor with clients, co-workers, and the public.
- Communicates effectively with team members and supervisors.
- Participates in training sessions and safety meetings as required.
- Demonstrates knowledge and safe operation of hydraulic equipment, including Weedoo boats, excavators (aquatic & land), skids steers, winches, and other small work vessels
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL is a plus.
- Experience operating small boats, heavy machinery, or agricultural equipment preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting basic equipment issues.
- Willingness to travel to various job sites; overtime may be required.
Physical Requirements:
- Lifting: Must be able to lift and carry up to 150 lbs with or without assistance.
- Standing/Walking: Frequent standing, bending, and walking on uneven terrain.
- Must be able to swim confidently and safely in open water environments.
- Climbing: Must be able to climb onto and off boats and equipment safely.
- Ability to work outdoors in variable weather conditions, including heat, humidity, and wet environments.
