The HR Generalist supports core human resources functions, including workers’ compensation, leave administration, onboarding and offboarding, compliance, and HRIS maintenance. The role also assists with recruitment, performance reviews, employee engagement programs, as well as HR reporting and special projects. This position serves as a key point of contact for employee inquiries while ensuring compliance with labor laws and supporting HR leadership with administrative needs. Bilingual Spanish proficiency and prior HR experience are required.
Essential Duties
- Manage and support day-to-day HR functions, including workers’ compensation (WC), and leaves of absence (LOA)
- Maintain accurate employee records and support daily HRIS functions that include reporting, and system updates
- Serve as a resource for employee inquiries, policies, and general support
- Assist with the coordination of onboarding and offboarding processes
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and assist with audits and recordkeeping
- Support performance review cycles and related HR initiatives
- Assist with employee engagement, wellness, and recognition programs
- Support operations with recruitment efforts
- Provide administrative and project support to HR leadership, including scheduling, reporting, and special projects
- Maintain a polished appearance in line with grooming standards
- Commute to Santa Monica location as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered
- 2–4 years minimum of Human Resources experience, preferably in a generalist support role
- Strong administrative, organizational, and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Hands-on experience with HRIS systems (e.g., UKG Pro) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Working knowledge of California and federal labor laws, including leave management and compliance practices
- Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and sound judgment
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Comfortable partnering with employees, managers, and senior leaders
- Bilingual in Spanish required; must be able to read, write, and translate
