Summary
Organizes, plans, and assists in the management of the volleyball program under the supervision of the Head Volleyball Coach, with a strong emphasis on student retention, persistence, and engagement. The Assistant Volleyball Coach assists with recruiting, fundraising, scouting, summer camps, team travel, practice and match planning, player development, and other duties as assigned. This position is a part-time, 6-month position.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Assist with organization and supervision of the volleyball program.
• Assist the Head Volleyball Coach with scheduling activities, budget development, travel
arrangements, and scholarship assistance for qualified student-athletes.
• Develop recruiting relationships with area high schools and community organizations.
• Participate in promotional, marketing, public relations, and fundraising initiatives.
• Assist with coordination of student-athlete recruiting activities.
• Track admissions and eligibility processes for recruited student-athletes.
• Support and monitor student-athlete academic progress.
• Promote student persistence and retention through athletics-led initiatives.
• Demonstrate respect for diversity and cross-cultural differences.
• Perform pre-season and post-season responsibilities.
• Assist with video, film breakdown, analytics, and player development initiatives.
• Attend all practices and matches, providing coaching feedback supported by statistics and analytics.
• Provide detailed film review and analysis of practices and matches to coaching staff.
• Maintain volleyball equipment inventories and compile statistical reports.
• Assist with training and evaluation of student-athletes.
• Assist with coordination of the overall practice schedule.
• Maintain professional development through clinics, conferences, and seminars.
• Assist in designing leadership development and team-building workshops.
• Maintain knowledge of and compliance with NJCAA and Region 10 rules and regulations.
• Assist with coordination and participation in camps and clinics.
• Serve as an academic mentor to volleyball student-athletes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
