The Chapel Hill Area Volleyball Club is a not for profit corporation established in 1990 for the purpose of promoting the sport of volleyball in the Orange/Durham/Alamance/Chatham County areas of North Carolina. Our mission is to provide playing opportunities for juniors in a wholesome, community-building atmosphere, and to foster individual skill development while emphasizing the highest standard of good sportsmanship. Role Description
We have needs for both head and assistant coaches for club teams. Club teams typically practice three times per week for two hours each, beginning in November and ending in April (regional teams) or June (national teams). Teams will attend tournaments on weekends beginning in January, generally twice a month. Head volleyball coaches are responsible for creating practice plans, coaching student-athletes on volleyball fundamentals and advanced techniques, leading the team during competition, fostering character and sportsmanship, and ensuring athlete safety. Assistant coaches will help run drills, take stats, and raise the level of practices by participating on court when needed. CHAVC believes in collaboration and coaches will share ideas and progress with club administrators and other coaches to promote team growth and success.

- Strong volleyball and coaching skills, with experience in planning practices and game strategies

- Excellent communication skills to connect with athletes, parents, and colleagues

- Volleyball playing background enabling coach to help on court
- Ability to take stats on an app like iStatVB - you will be trained
