Senior Conflicts and Ethics Attorney

Location: Boston, MA | Hybrid - 2 remote days/week

Salary Range: $155K-$166K | Bonus Eligible

Schedule: Full-time | Monday-Friday, 9-5

Overview

A top 10 Boston law firm is seeking a Senior Conflicts and Ethics Attorney to join their growing team. This is a newly created role offering the opportunity to shape risk management, compliance, and ethical governance at a strategic level.

Qualifications & Skills

• Juris Doctor (JD) required
• 5 years of experience as a conflicts and ethics attorney within a law firm environment
• Deep knowledge of Rules of Professional Conduct across multiple jurisdictions
• Proven ability to identify and resolve conflicts of interest and ethical issues
• Experience with risk management, loss prevention, and compliance advisory
• Strong background in legal drafting, including engagement and policy documents
• Experience reviewing outside counsel guidelines

Key Responsibilities

• Lead conflicts of interest analysis and resolution, including drafting conflict waivers and implementing ethical walls
• Conduct advanced legal risk assessments, including corporate separateness research and engagement review
• Draft and review engagement letters, outside counsel guidelines, and related agreements
• Perform due diligence on new clients and identify potential ethical or business risks
• Partner with internal stakeholders to resolve business conflicts and support decision-making
• Advise attorneys and staff on legal ethics, compliance, and risk management protocols
• Support lateral hiring processes by evaluating potential conflicts and providing strategic guidance
• Train and mentor team members on conflicts procedures and professional conduct standards
• Collaborate cross-functionally to enhance conflicts management systems and processes
• Ensure timely handling of client matter closures and file transfers
