Key Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Accounting, or a related field
- 8 years of experience in benefits administration within a multi-state or multi-country environment
- Strong knowledge of employee benefits, benefits compliance, payroll systems, HRIS platforms, and benefits data management
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas, and data analysis tools
- Experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
Responsibilities
- Administer and manage all employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, and vision plans, health reimbursement arrangements (HRAs), life and accident insurance
- Short- and long-term disability programs, wellness initiatives, and voluntary benefits
- Ensure compliance with ERISA, HIPAA, ACA, COBRA, and other applicable federal and state regulations
- Serve as a subject matter expert for benefits-related inquiries and collaborate with vendors to resolve issues
- Coordinate annual enrollment activities, plan changes, and new benefit program implementations
- Conduct benefits benchmarking, market research, and program analysis to support strategic decision-making
- Prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations using advanced data analysis techniques
- Draft and support employee communications, plan documents, amendments, and Summary Plan Descriptions
- Manage compliance activities, including Form 5500 filings, ACA reporting, HIRD reporting, non-discrimination testing, and audit support
- Partner with HRIS teams to ensure accurate configuration and administration of benefits systems
- Reconcile payroll deductions, HSA funding, and 401(k) contributions while researching discrepancies
- Support leave administration and retirement plan operations as needed
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, automate workflows, and enhance employee experiences
- Participate in strategic HR and benefits projects and long-term planning initiatives
