Position Summary
The Export Logistics Specialist manages more complex shipments and ensures compliance with export regulations, including documentation, licenses, and permits. This role provides subject matter expertise, supports clients with specialized requirements, and contributes to process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate export shipments from origin to destination, including routing, booking, and documentation
- Manage compliance with export regulations (EAR, ITAR, AES, Letters of Credit, etc.)
- Review and validate commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates for accuracy
- Track shipments and resolve escalated issues with carriers, vendors, and regulatory agencies
- Support clients with technical guidance and documentation requirements
- Maintain accurate records and ensure audit readiness
- Provide training and support to coordinators or junior staff
- Recommend process improvements and contribute to operational efficiency initiatives
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, International Business, or related field preferred
Experience
- 3 years of export/logistics experience required
Skills and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of export compliance and documentation requirements
- Proficiency with TMS, export documentation software, and Microsoft Office tools
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and customer service skills
- Certifications (IATA, HazMat, CES) preferred
