We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Construction Estimator to join our team. This individual will play a key role in the planning and execution of construction projects by providing accurate cost estimates, analyzing blueprints and other documentation, and collaborating with project managers, engineers, architects, and subcontractors. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of the construction industry, excellent analytical skills, and a deep understanding of cost management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for commercial, industrial, and/or residential construction projects.
- Review and analyze architectural and engineering drawings, specifications, and other documents to prepare comprehensive estimates.
- Help manage the bid process including quantity take-offs, subcontractor solicitation, bid comparisons, and risk assessments.
- Collaborate with project managers and clients to clarify scope and expectations.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and provide value engineering suggestions.
- Monitor and maintain databases of unit costs, historical data, and pricing trends.
- Review subcontractor and supplier bids for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist in negotiating contracts and scopes of work.
- Prepare project budgets and assist with the development of project schedules.
- Mentor and support junior estimators and assist in their professional development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in a senior or lead estimator role.
- Proven experience estimating a wide range of projects (e.g., commercial, multi-family, infrastructure).
- Proficient in estimating software such as Agtek and Heavy Bid.
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and market conditions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
