ResponsibilitiesLead all monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities across HoldCo, OpCo, SPV, and partnership structuresOwn all accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and month-end closeLead budget-to-actuals analysis, variance reporting, and FP&A-oriented insight generationBuild scalable AP, partner billing, and future AR processesOversee royalty payment accounting, verification, reconciliations, and stakeholder reportingManage unitized and partnership-level accounting structuresSupport project finance activities including draw requests, lender reporting, and cost tracking for drilling campaigns and power plant constructionDevelop audit-ready reporting packages for leadership and external partnersEstablish controls for annual audits and partner-led audit rightsServe as internal expert on COPAS-inspired partnership accountingPartner with external CPA and bookkeeping teams during initial setupLead ERP evaluation and implementation (SAP or equivale

Qualifications10–20 years of progressive accounting and controllership experience from upstream oil and gasStrong upstream oil & gas accounting leadership experience. Experience within independent oil and gas companies, understanding of upstream project accounting, AFEs, and capital project cost controls strongly preferred.CPA not required. Strong technical accounting skills (GAAP)Experience with royalty accounting, JV structures, and audit defenseExperience working within a private equity-backed environment or reporting directly to PE sponsorsPrior ERP implementation and controls buildout experiencePE-backed or startup environment experience is preferableAble to work in-office 5 days a
week
