Job Overview:
- The VPN Network Engineer is responsible for configuring, troubleshooting, and maintaining secure network infrastructure in a multi-data center environment.
- The role involves managing VPN connectivity, optimizing network performance, ensuring compliance with security standards, and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to deliver reliable network services.
- Configuration and troubleshooting of IPSEC site-to-site VPNs.
- Ability to read, understand, and troubleshoot complex routing issues.
- Strong understanding of networking in a multi-data center environment.
- Ability to work with minimal guidance and seek assistance only on the most complex tasks.
- Strong communication skills with leadership, peers, project managers, clients, and stakeholders.
- Flexible work schedule with the ability to perform after-hours changes.
- Configure and troubleshoot IPSEC site-to-site VPNs.
- Author technical documentation, including network diagrams.
- Monitor network performance and implement performance tuning when necessary.
- Diagnose connectivity problems and resolve network issues.
- Work closely with clients and vendors on the implementation of products and services.
- Ensure security and operational standards are maintained in accordance with compliance requirements, HIPAA standards, and industry best practices.
- Work independently with minimal guidance and seek assistance only on the most complex tasks.
- Communicate effectively with leadership, peers, project managers, clients, and stakeholders.
- CCNP certification or higher, or equivalent experience.
- Experience installing and maintaining Cisco routers and switches.
- Experience managing Arista switches.
- Strong documentation skills and experience with tools such as Visio.
- Experience with scripting languages such as Python.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects.
