Key Responsibilities
VMware Infrastructure Administration
- Administer and maintain enterprise VMware environments including vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi
- Configure and manage ESXi hosts, clusters, resource pools, and virtual infrastructure components
- Monitor and optimize system performance, scalability, and availability
- Troubleshoot failed Windows Server patching and vulnerability remediation activities
- Analyze system logs including CBS.log, DISM.log, and Windows Update logs
- Utilize advanced repair tools such as DISM and SFC to restore system health
- Automate remediation and maintenance tasks using PowerShell
- Resolve issues related to Windows Update services, SoftwareDistribution cache, and servicing stack components
- Troubleshoot system reserved partition space and Volume Shadow Copy issues
- Identify and remediate conflicts involving antivirEDR tools and Trusted Installer services
- Support HA and DR solutions aligned with enterprise recovery objectives
- Configure and manage replication, failover, and recovery processes
- Participate in disaster recovery testing and validation activities
- Support VMware integration with SAN/NAS and vSAN storage environments
- Assist with storage provisioning, replication strategies, and performance tuning
- Collaborate with infrastructure and storage teams to maintain operational efficiency
- Implement security hardening for VMware and Windows environments
- Support vulnerability remediation and compliance initiatives
- Provide Tier 3 support for infrastructure-related incidents and outages
- Participate in change management, documentation, and operational governance processes
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 7 years of enterprise infrastructure engineering experience
- 5 years of hands-on VMware administration experience in enterprise environments
- Strong expertise in:
- VMware vSphere, vCenter, and ESXi
- Windows Server troubleshooting and patch remediation
- HA/DR technologies and replication solutions
- SAN/NAS and enterprise storage platforms
- Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation
- Strong understanding of:
- DNS, DHCP, IPAM
- TCP/IP networking, VLANs, and segmentation
- Windows Server and Linux operating systems
- Experience with backup, monitoring, and performance tuning tools
- Ability to troubleshoot complex production infrastructure issues in high-availability environments
- VMware certifications such as VCP or VCAP
- Experience working in government, healthcare, or regulated enterprise environments
- Familiarity with NetApp, vSAN, and hybrid cloud technologies
- Experience with enterprise endpoint management tools such as Tanium
- ITIL certification or experience working within ITIL-based operational frameworks
- Hybrid work schedule available
- Participation in on-call rotation and after-hours support may be required
- Strong communication, troubleshooting, and documentation skills are highly preferred
