Overview

The Senior IT Support Specialist serves as the primary daytime technical resource for a large campus environment. This position delivers advanced technical support and operational leadership across a high-volume manufacturing setting, ensuring seamless end-user computing, infrastructure readiness, and technology operations.

This role combines hands-on support, technical leadership, and project execution-supporting everything from escalated troubleshooting to large-scale infrastructure and construction-related IT initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Support & Operations

  • Provide advanced troubleshooting for escalated hardware, software, and network issues
  • Serve as the primary first-shift IT support lead for onsite operations
  • Support end-user computing across a dynamic manufacturing environment
  • Ensure IT operational readiness across systems and infrastructure

Device Management & Administration

  • Perform device imaging and provisioning using Windows Autopilot and enterprise tools
  • Manage software installations, updates, and patching cycles
  • Track and maintain software licenses using ServiceNow or similar systems

Asset & Process Management

  • Maintain accurate asset records and lifecycle tracking
  • Support inventory management and hardware lifecycle planning
  • Document all activities in ServiceNow following ITIL-aligned processes

Project & Infrastructure Support

  • Support and help lead IT components of:
    • New construction projects
    • Network builds and upgrades
    • Infrastructure expansions
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (engineering, facilities, network teams, and corporate IT)
  • Ensure technology readiness for new and existing facilities

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Provide frontline leadership for technical support activities
  • Mentor and support second-shift IT staff as needed
  • Ensure adherence to IT standards, security policies, and best practices

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience with Windows device provisioning (Autopilot preferred)
  • Proficiency in software deployment, updates, and patch management
  • Experience managing assets and licenses in ServiceNow or similar ticketing systems
  • Demonstrated ability to support or lead technical projects and infrastructure initiatives
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills across hardware, software, and network issues
  • Strong documentation and process discipline (ITIL familiarity preferred)

Qualifications

  • Equivalent hands-on IT experience required (degree not required)
  • Military technical experience strongly valued
  • Experience working in manufacturing or production environments is a plus
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Work Environment

  • 100% onsite in a high-volume manufacturing setting
  • Fast-paced environment requiring hands-on technical support and adaptability

Environment & Support Scope

  • Serve as the sole onsite IT resource, supporting approximately350-500 end users
  • Provide IT support for a mix of:
    • Office-based employees (sales office environment)
    • Field technicians (HVAC installation teams)
    • Warehouse/distribution/manufacturing users
  • Support a wide range of technologies including:
    • Zebra/label printers and scanners
    • Standard endpoint devices and enterprise IT systems
Additional Candidate Considerations

  • Candidates with consistent work history and demonstrated commitment to previous employers are strongly preferred
  • All applicants will complete a Windows 11 technical assessment, with a required passing score of 75% or higher to move forward

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lexington, KY.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $30.00/hr.
