Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Functional SAP Transportation Management (TM) Consultant to support the design, configuration, and deployment of SAP TM solutions. This role will partner closely with business stakeholders, logistics teams, and technical SAP resources to optimize transportation planning, execution, and freight settlement processes. The ideal candidate brings deep functional TM expertise, strong business acumen, and hands-on experience delivering SAP TM within complex supply chain environments.

This role will partner closely with business stakeholders, logistics teams, and technical SAP resources to optimize transportation planning, execution, and freight settlement processes. The ideal candidate brings deep functional TM expertise, strong business acumen, and hands-on experience delivering SAP TM within complex supply chain environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead functional design and configuration of SAP TM to support transportation planning, execution, carrier management, and freight settlement
- Gather and document business requirements, translate them into functional specifications, and support solution design
- Configure core SAP TM components, including: Freight Units, Freight Orders, and Transportation Network; Transportation Planning and Optimization; Carrier Selection, Tendering, and Execution; Charge Calculation, Freight Settlement, and Dispute Management
- Collaborate with SAP technical teams on enhancements, integrations, and custom developments
- Support integration with SAP modules such as: SAP S/4HANA or ECC; SAP EWM, SAP SD, SAP MM, and SAP FI; External TMS, carrier, or logistics platforms
- Lead and support testing activities (unit testing, integration testing, UAT) and resolve defects
- Provide cutover, go-live, and post-go-live support, including issue resolution and optimization
- Develop user documentation and deliver end-user training
- Act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders, identifying opportunities to improve transportation efficiency and reduce logistics costs
- 5 years of experience as a Functional SAP TM Consultant
- Strong hands-on configuration experience with SAP TM (planning, execution, and settlement)
- Experience delivering full lifecycle SAP TM implementations (design through go-live)
- Experience integrating SAP TM with SAP S/4HANA or ECC
- Solid understanding of transportation and logistics business processes (LTL, FTL, parcel, intermodal, international shipping)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work directly with business and IT stakeholders
- Ability to translate business requirements into scalable SAP TM solutions
- SAP TM certification(s)
- Experience with SAP TM on S/4HANA
- Exposure to global transportation networks and multi-country deployments
- Experience with SAP EWM-TM integration
- Experience working in manufacturing, retail, consumer goods, or distribution environments
- Knowledge of freight costing, rate management, and carrier contracts
