We are seeking a Frontend Developer to support front-end application development for large-scale data platforms within the utility industry. This role focuses on building modern, intuitive web applications in React.js that sit on top of Azure Databricks, Delta Lake, and associated Azure data services. Prior experience in the utility or energy sector is highly preferred due to domain-specific data structures and operational needs. This role is a part-time, fully remote contract in the Utility industry. Utility experience is highly preferred. Candidates must be able to work Hawai'i business hours.

Responsibilities
- Build, enhance, and support React.js front-end applications that interface with data stored, processed, and modeled within Azure Databricks.
- Develop UI components, dashboards, and interactive data visualizations leveraging Databricks SQL endpoints, Delta Lake tables, and Azure services.
- Collaborate closely with data engineers and architects to integrate front-end applications with notebooks, pipelines, REST APIs, and SQL Warehouses in Databricks.
- Implement secure, user-friendly experiences for business users interacting with operational, grid, meter, asset, or customer-facing utility datasets.
- Optimize front-end performance for querying large datasets through Databricks SQL or Azure data APIs.
- Participate in design sessions, sprints, and code reviews to ensure high-quality delivery.
- Document UI components, workflow integrations, and environment configurations.
- Troubleshoot application issues across the front-end, Databricks integration, and Azure services.
- 3 years of hands-on development experience with React.js, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
- Strong experience working with Azure Databricks (notebooks, SQL endpoints, Delta Lake).
- Experience building front-end applications that connect to Databricks using REST APIs, SQL connections, or structured data services.
- Solid understanding of Azure cloud services.
- Familiarity with data models, ETL concepts, and analytics/reporting solutions.
- Experience in Agile/Scrum, Git, CI/CD, and front-end testing.
