- Degree: A BS degree in an Engineering curriculum that included Thermodynamics/Fluid Dynamics (e.g., Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or similar).
- Experience Level: 5-7 years (internships count as experience).
- Good understanding of thermodynamic systems.
- Knowledge of instrumentation (thermocouples, pressure transducers, flow meters, etc.) and how to apply them.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
- Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD).
- High initiative.
- Good communication skills (verbal and written).
- Strong teamwork and collaboration.
- Ability to perform physical work (climb large machines, turn wrenches, etc.).
- Effective and safe use of hand tools.
- Basic leadership and mentoring skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Detail-oriented.
- Devise sampling procedures and develop forms/instructions for recording quality/reliability data.
- Establish programs to evaluate precision and accuracy of production and test equipment.
- Write training materials and conduct training sessions on quality control activities.
- Direct workers engaged in measuring/testing product and tabulating quality/reliability data.
- Plan, set up, execute tests; analyze and report results and recommendations.
- Oversee test setup and execution; take ownership of planning and delivering projects as capability is demonstrated.
