Role Overview
We are hiring for one of our clients seeking a Terminal Operator responsible for safely operating equipment used in loading and unloading rail cars, trucks, and vessels. This role ensures accurate order processing, efficient material handling, and adherence to safety and environmental standards in a terminal environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate terminal equipment for loading and unloading bulk and bagged materials via road, rail, and water transport
- Communicate effectively with terminal managers, customers, suppliers, and logistics partners
- Maintain terminal grounds, warehouse, yard, and office areas
- Perform general maintenance and assist with mechanical repairs of mobile equipment
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness in processing material handling requests
- Complete required documentation and reports
- Promote and adhere to health, safety, and environmental policies
- Support overall terminal operations and perform additional duties as assigned
Required Qualifications & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1–3 years of relevant work experience
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office; SAP knowledge preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including heights and confined spaces
Additional Requirements
- Ability to perform manual labor including loading/unloading activities
- Mechanical or welding experience is an advantage
- Knowledge of cement or construction industry is preferred
- Strong attention to detail and ability to complete paperwork accurately
- Commitment to safety and adherence to all workplace safety protocols
- Ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation
