Overview
We are hiring for one of our clients for the position of Advanced Project Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity to join a leading aerospace engineering organization focused on the development of advanced Communication, Navigation, and Surveillance (CNS) systems.
In this role, you will provide technical leadership across the full product lifecycle, supporting cutting-edge navigation and radar altimeter solutions for both commercial and military aviation platforms. You will serve as both a technical leader and project execution expert, ensuring successful delivery of complex engineering programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for customers, internal stakeholders, and program management.
- Lead engineering projects from concept through certification, production, and lifecycle support.
- Develop project schedules, resource forecasts, and execution plans.
- Support proposal development, cost estimation, and business capture activities.
- Oversee day-to-day program execution to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
- Drive Earned Value Management (EVM) and Management Operating System (MOS) processes.
- Manage project risks, opportunities, and baseline changes.
- Provide hands-on technical leadership and support to engineering teams as needed.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across engineering, certification, manufacturing, and program management.
- Prepare technical presentations, customer deliverables, and certification artifacts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in aerospace product development programs.
- At least 1 year of demonstrated project or team leadership experience.
- Experience supporting commercial and military aerospace programs.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical, Aerospace, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or Computer Science.
- Strong knowledge of electronics and RF systems.
- Experience with aircraft avionics systems and aerospace product development.
- Familiarity with FAA certification, TSO processes, and MOPS requirements.
- Knowledge of radar altimeters and navigation radio systems.
- Experience with Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) methodologies.
- Strong project planning, estimation, and resource allocation skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Ability to thrive in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
