Job Summary:
Switch4 delivers cutting-edge software solutions and strategic recruitment services to help businesses stay ahead. The Category Development Lead is responsible for identifying strategic growth opportunities for company brands and their respective categories, collaborating with internal teams and retail partners to provide shopper-centric insights and actionable business solutions.
Responsibilities:
• Provide category and shopper-centric analysis using syndicated data, retailer portals, and custom research.
• Identify trends and opportunities to drive category and brand growth.
• Lead category reviews and develop assortment and planogram (POG) analysis and recommendations.
• Analyze new item performance and promotional trends.
• Track distribution and shelf space metrics for internal reporting.
• Support customer line reviews, annual planning, and monthly business updates.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with retail partners to foster category growth.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute category strategies across DSMP (Distribution, Shelving, Merchandising, and Pricing)
• Provide insights to support customer/channel-specific strategy development.
• Share learnings and category insights internally to inform strategic planning.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 5 years of Client experience, including 2 years in Category Management and/or Shopper Insights
• Bachelor's degree required
• Proven ability to influence decisions at multiple levels within internal and external organizations
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to uncover insights and convert them into compelling, action-oriented strategies
• Experience with syndicated scan and panel data (IRI/Circana required)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Excellent verbal and written communication, collaboration, and project management skills
Preferred:
• Numerator experience preferred
• Vendor IQ a plus
• Power BI experience is a plus
• Knowledge of space management applications is advantageous
