Job Summary:

The Principal Electrical Studies Engineer will lead a team of experts in electrical power system studies, ensuring technical quality and providing mentorship to junior engineers.
Responsibilities:
• Develop electrical studies and design recommendations covering small to large scale power systems for generation, manufacturing, data centers or similar facilities. Provide recommendations based on expertise in power systems equipment and results of systems studies
• Perform quality reviews for calculations, studies/evaluations, software models, designs, drawings, and data prepared by other engineers or subcontractors
• Maintain quality, schedule, and budget for assigned tasks with minimal supervision
• Direct and oversee routine and advanced technical work performed by others on assigned projects. Provide mentorship to less experienced engineers
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited university
• Maintain an active PE license or committed to obtain in near future
• 10 years of experience performing electrical studies as primary job function
• Experience working in the power generation industries
• Experience evaluating large scale power generation systems following industry accepted electrical codes and standards such as IEEE, IEC, NEC, and NERC; preferably in nuclear
• Proficiency in understanding highly technical topics in the field of electrical engineering using textbooks, white papers, and industry studies as basis and guidance
• Experience performing studies such as load flow, short circuit, arc flash, equipment protection, sequence of operation, and transient stability
Preferred:
• MS in a relevant topic of electrical engineering
