Job Summary:

They are seeking a Software Development Manager to lead the Inventory Management System, focusing on developing scalable systems that handle billions of inventory transactions daily across Amazon's warehouses worldwide.
Responsibilities:
• Building and maintaining systems that track inventory throughout Amazon's fulfillment network, designing scalable storage solutions, and developing high-performance APIs.
• Spearhead the development of next generation inventory management features for supporting evolving Amazon businesses such as Amazon Bulk Services
• Directly hiring, retaining, and growing top engineering talent within your group.
• Being a clear technical voice, working in partnership with your teams to deliver an architecture which will scale with the needs of Amazon's business
• Exercising operational oversight over your team's systems and products
• Quickly and reliably delivering high quality technical solutions that will delight our customers.
• Developing a product roadmap that focused on growth and automation
• Clearly communicating risks, successes, and missteps to leadership and to stakeholders.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 3 years of engineering team management experience
• 7 years of working directly within engineering teams experience
• 3 years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• 8 years of leading the definition and development of multi tier web services experience
• Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams
Preferred:
• Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
• Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills, and make them more effective, product software engineers
