Job Summary:
Mfinite Consulting is a certified, award-winning professional services firm specializing in management consulting, IT support, and staffing solutions. They are seeking a skilled Mainframe Engineer to develop, maintain, and enhance mainframe applications for a public sector client while troubleshooting and optimizing code. This hybrid role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL and CICS.
• Write and manage JCL for batch job processing.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application issues, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Optimize code for performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders to meet project goals.
• Perform additional duties as needed within the project scope.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience with COBOL, CICS, TSO, and JCL.
• Strong programming and debugging skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities.
• Ability to work on-site in Riverdale, MD at least 2 days per week.
Preferred:
• Experience with CA-IDEAL and CA Datacomm.
• Background in higher education or government environments.
