Job Summary:
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a leading cloud computing platform that began in 2006. They are seeking a Systems Development Engineer to help improve operations and solve complex technical issues for government customers, focusing on the Builder Tools platform.
Responsibilities:
• Investigating and developing new ways to improve operations and defining new solutions to solve technically complex cloud issues for our customers
• You will use a mix of different methodologies to answer ambiguous questions about the software builder experience.
• Investigating system variances about to affect major services worldwide and solving them proactively before impacting customers.
• Diving deep into service interdependencies and region specific configurations to find the root of a problem about to affect an entire nation.
• Studying and learning from industry recognized Amazon distinguished engineers.
• Identifying ways to improve the lives of our customers through improvements to tools, processes, and documentation.
Qualifications:
Required:
• 2 years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 1 years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as C , C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell, Ruby
• Knowledge of systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)
• Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above
Preferred:
• Experience with PowerShell (preferred), Python, Ruby, or Java
• Experience working in an Agile environment using the Scrum methodology
• 7 years of administrative experience in networking, storage systems, operating systems and hands-on systems engineering experience
• Bachelor's degree, or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional)
