Key Responsibilities
- Lead full lifecycle project management of BESS substation packages from NTP through COD
- Manage EPC contractors, OEMs, and key vendors (BESS integrators, substation contractors, HV equipment suppliers)
- Oversee HV interconnection scope (collector substations, switchyards, transmission tie-ins)
- Drive schedule (P6/MS Project), budget, and risk management for projects often exceeding $50M
- Coordinate across internal teams (development, interconnection, finance, asset management)
- Review engineering deliverables, equipment specs, and construction plans
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
- Lead project reporting to senior leadership and investors
- Support contract negotiations, change orders, and claims management
- 5–10 years of experience in utility-scale renewables, power delivery, or energy infrastructure
- Strong experience with BESS projects and/or substations (HV/MV)
- Background managing EPC or owner’s rep scope on large capital projects
- Familiarity with interconnection, grid tie, and commissioning processes
- Experience with tools like Primavera P6, MS Project, Procore, etc.
- Engineering background (EE preferred); PE or PMP is a plus
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously
