Responsibilities
- Oversee the financial aspects of assigned projects, including budgeting, cost management, and forecasting.
- Coordinate with project managers and other team members to ensure all financial reports and documents are accurate and timely.
- Utilize specialized software including Viewpoint Spectrum, Textura, and Procure for project accounting, cost control, and reporting. (not mandatory)
- Conduct regular financial reviews and audits to ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Prepare and analyze monthly project financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, cash flows, variance analysis, and project profitability reports.
- Manage project-related billings and collections, ensuring timely invoicing and payment.
- Liaise with clients and vendors on financial matters, resolving any discrepancies or issues promptly and professionally.
- Provide financial advice and guidance to project managers, assisting in the decision-making process to ensure project profitability.
- Actively participate in project review meetings, providing financial insights and recommendations.
- Monitor project budgets and expenditures, ensuring costs are kept within budget and highlighting any potential issues to project managers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Project Accountant, preferably within the construction industry.
- Proficiency in Viewpoint Spectrum, Textura, and Procure or equivalent project accounting software.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting, specifically within a project-based environment.
- Excellent analytical skills with an ability to translate complex financial data into understandable reports.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with an ability to effectively communicate complex financial information to non-financial team members.
- Highly organized with an ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
- Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to identify and resolve financial discrepancies.
- A proactive approach with an ability to anticipate potential issues and implement effective solutions.
- Knowledge of construction industry regulations and standards is a plus.
