Job Details
Responsibilities:
- Defend physicians, hospitals, health systems, and other healthcare providers in medical malpractice and professional liability litigation
- Manage cases through all phases of litigation: pleadings, written discovery, depositions, motion practice, expert development, mediation, and trial preparation
- Review and analyze medical records; work closely with medical and standard-of-care experts
- Draft dispositive and pretrial motions, discovery, and legal memoranda
- Represent providers in related risk management, peer review, credentialing, and professional licensing board matters
- Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex and multi-jurisdictional disputes
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in Texas, in good standing
- [2–5] years of litigation experience; medical malpractice, professional liability, or healthcare defense experience strongly preferred
- Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Deposition and discovery experience; comfort managing cases with a degree of independence
