Responsibilities
- Independently manage a caseload of family law matters from initial consultation through final resolution
- Develop and execute effective case strategies tailored to each client’s goals and circumstances
- Represent clients in divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, equitable distribution, and other family law matters
- Handle contested hearings, motions, mediations, depositions, and trials
- Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery, settlement agreements, court orders, and other legal documents
- Conduct and manage discovery, including financial and asset-related issues in complex domestic cases
- Negotiate effectively with opposing counsel and work toward favorable resolutions when appropriate
- Prepare clients thoroughly for hearings, mediation, depositions, and trial
- Contribute to the continued growth and success of the firm’s Greenville office
- Active South Carolina Bar license in good standing
- Significant experience practicing family law, with the ability to independently manage cases from intake through resolution
- Strong knowledge of South Carolina family law and court procedures
- Meaningful courtroom experience, including contested hearings and trials
- Experience handling divorce, child custody, child support, alimony, and equitable distribution matters
- Strong negotiation, mediation, legal research, and litigation skills
