Job Details / Responsibilities:
Review and analyze conflict check reports for new business intake, potential clients, and matters firm-wide
Identify potential legal and business conflicts of interest, provide detailed analyses, and recommend resolutions
Assist in the clearance of conflicts related to new hires, lateral attorneys, and firm acquisitions/mergers
Review and interpret outside counsel guidelines, ensuring compliance and communicating requirements effectively
Draft conflict waivers, ethical screens, and related documentation as needed
Collaborate with attorneys, partners, and risk management teams to resolve complex conflicts issues
Perform thorough research and due diligence on parties involved in new matters
Maintain accuracy and timeliness in all conflicts clearance processes under pressure
Qualifications:
Active bar membership in good standing (any U.S. jurisdiction acceptable)
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
At least 2 years of experience in conflicts clearance, review of outside counsel guidelines, or related risk management in a large law firm (strong candidates without exact experience considered)
Exceptional attention to detail and strong analytical/critical thinking skills
Excellent oral and written communication abilities
Proficiency with computer systems, databases, and legal research tools
Ability to perform effectively under tight deadlines and high-pressure situations
