Senior Programmer | iGaming

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Programmer | iGaming based in Canada.

This role offers the opportunity to build and maintain software solutions that support critical risk and surveillance operations within a fast-paced iGaming environment.
You will take ownership of a back-office system used to support daily operational workflows and help improve its reliability and efficiency.
The position combines hands-on programming, debugging, database work, and problem-solving across large volumes of data.
You will collaborate closely with risk, surveillance, HR, and other teams to understand operational needs and deliver effective technical solutions.
A proactive mindset is essential, with an emphasis on identifying potential issues and resolving them before they affect business activities.
You will join an experienced technical team where knowledge sharing and collaboration are encouraged.
The role also involves supporting a 24/7 operation, requiring flexibility, accountability, and consistent delivery.

• Build, maintain, enhance, and troubleshoot a back-office system supporting the daily activities of the Risk Department.
• Develop efficient, reliable code to address technical challenges and resolve software issues effectively.
• Write, modify, test, debug, and maintain software applications according to operational requirements and established standards.
• Work closely with the Risk and Surveillance teams to understand business needs and translate them into practical technical solutions.
• Collaborate with colleagues across departments to support business and operational initiatives when required.
• Proactively identify potential technical or operational problems and take appropriate action to prevent or resolve them.
• Contribute to ongoing improvements in systems, processes, and overall business activities through effective software development.
• Work with large datasets and develop solutions that support efficient processing and analysis.
• Maintain high standards of cooperation, professionalism, organization, and technical quality.
• Provide regular daily activity reports and communicate progress, issues, and relevant developments to the line manager.
• Follow established organizational standards, procedures, and working practices.
• Support a 24/7 operational environment and adapt to assigned shifts as required.

Requirements

• Advanced SQL skills with the ability to work confidently with complex queries and large datasets.
• Strong programming capabilities in Java, C, C , HTML, or comparable programming languages.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Demonstrated ability to process, analyze, and work efficiently with large volumes of data.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical issues.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders across different departments.
• Comfortable working independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
• Strong sense of ownership, reliability, attention to detail, and commitment to established standards.
• Flexibility to work within a 24/7 shift-based operating environment.
