Senior Internal Auditor

• Lead and execute risk-based internal audit engagements, including planning, risk assessment, fieldwork, documentation, reporting, and follow-up activities.
• Conduct operational, financial, compliance, and special project audits to assess the effectiveness of internal controls and business processes.
• Develop audit programs, perform process walkthroughs, create testing procedures, analyze evidence, and document conclusions.
• Prepare audit findings, draft reports, and present results to stakeholders and leadership teams.
• Facilitate discussions with management to identify root causes, develop mitigation plans, and recommend practical process improvements.
• Perform quality reviews of audit documentation and provide coaching and feedback to support team development.
• Evaluate fraud risks, compliance frameworks, governance processes, and control environments to identify improvement opportunities.
• Apply data analytics techniques to detect trends, anomalies, and potential risks within audit activities.
• Identify opportunities to leverage technology, automation, and AI solutions to improve audit efficiency.
• Build strong relationships with stakeholders and leadership while promoting collaboration and effective communication.
• Support audit planning activities, engagement scheduling, project tracking, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to team growth through mentoring, knowledge sharing, and participation in recruitment activities when needed.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; an advanced degree is considered an asset.
• Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in internal audit, external audit, accounting, or finance.
• Experience leading audit engagements or managing small teams.
• Strong understanding of governance, risk management, compliance, and internal control frameworks.
• Knowledge of audit methodologies and professional standards, including experience applying structured audit processes.
• Professional certification required before the start date, such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Power BI and Visio; experience with tools such as Workday, AuditBoard/Optro, Oracle, or Sage X3 is an asset.
• Experience working effectively in a remote environment.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly, manage priorities, and collaborate with stakeholders at various organizational levels.
• Knowledge of supply chain processes, including procurement, vendor management, warehousing, logistics, and inventory management, is an asset.
• Bilingual French and English communication skills are considered an asset.
• Willingness to travel approximately 25–40%, including occasional travel within Canada and the United States.
