The Materials Lead position is filled by a motivated individual, experienced with receiving and warehouse procedures. The Lead will report directly to the Supervisor and is accountable for daily execution. The Lead role is vital in ensuring efficient and effective warehouse operations and customer service execution. The Lead will be responsible for the adherence of established policies and procedures and the enforcement of these. Leads will be overseeing the allocation of resources to meet customer demand, maintaining clear communication with supervisors, and fostering the development of a strong and cohesive team. The Materials Lead must be good at collaborating with Production, Scheduling and Purchasing, be a proactive leader who can build and maintain efficient execution of required tasks.

The Material Lead is responsible for maintaining and organizing material and inventory for a multiple line production facility utilizing 6S methodologies.

  • Responsible for enforcing JMF policies and addressing and documenting instances when JMF policies were not followed.
  • Ability to read, understand, and look ahead at each production lines schedule to coordinate with materials team on demand of product needed and when, to reduce downtime.
  • Track material being sent to the line to assist in eliminating overruns and tracking scrap.
  • Check-in, receive, label and move product to locations.
  • Ensure inbounds are offloaded in a timely manner.
  • Direct material flow in warehouse.
  • Transfer product safely and efficiently.
  • Complete and document quality audits of inbound materials.
  • Organize and utilize warehouse space effectively.
  • Function as a back-up to Production Supervisors when needed.
  • Collaborate with the Production Lead to drive process control and inventory accuracy, prioritizing effective scrap copper management.
  • Participates in shift start-up meetings with Supervisors and Leads.
  • Keeps the Materials Team fully informed of any safety, quality, and material issues.
  • Drives improvement of safety, quality and increase manufacturing productivity.
  • Confirms packing list accuracy and location of material to be put away.
  • Help with JMF Company monthly, quarterly, and year-end inventory audits.
  • Required: High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Preferred: Associates degree or advanced training in logistics, warehousing, or supply chain management.
  • Responsible for enforcing JMF policies and addressing and documenting instances when JMF policies weren’t followed.
  • Aptitude to read and interpret Bill of Ladings and Packing Lists.
  • Possesses good judgment and decision making.
  • Comprehensive verbal and written communication.
  • Good organizational skill and detailed oriented.
  • Sound mathematical and alphanumerical skills.
  • Familiarity with Excel and other inventory-based systems such as SAP.
  • Function as a team member with all other personnel in the assigned department and other departments.
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing production demands and needs.
  • Characteristics such as a strong work ethic and self-managed conduct and behavior.
  • Must be able to drive a fork truck.
  • Safe, efficient and effective performance in all assigned duties in each department.
  • Minimal errors while moving inventory in and out of locations.
  • Minimal down time on shop floor due to the correct material not being delivered on time.
