Driver - Equipment & Jobsite Support
Location - Davenport, IA
Type: Full-time permanent employment
Pay: Up to $25 per hour (DOE)
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a company pickup truck and flatbed trailer.
- Transport equipment including:
- Scissor lifts
- Mini excavators
- Skid steers
- Jobsite materials and tools
- Deliver and retrieve equipment & materials for job sites throughout the Quad Cities region and surrounding areas!
- Secure loads in accordance with DOT and company safety standards.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle and trailer inspections.
- Assist with loading and unloading equipment & materials.
- Coordinate deliveries with project managers, dispatch, and field personnel.
- Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of company vehicles and trailers.
- Keep accurate delivery logs and communicate any maintenance or scheduling issues.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Valid Iowa driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Must be able to pass a Drug screen and Background Check.
- Experience towing trailers and transporting equipment preferred.
- Ability to safely load, secure, and unload construction equipment.
- Comfortable operating or assisting with loading equipment such as skid steers, mini excavators, and scissor lifts.
- Strong attention to safety and detail.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- CDL is not required, but candidates will need to obtain a CDL within six (6) months of employment are strongly preferred. Hometown Mechanical is willing to work with the right candidate toward this goal.
