About the role
We are seeking experienced Buyers to support procurement operations within a defense-focused environment. This role is responsible for sourcing and acquiring goods and services while ensuring compliance with federal regulations. You will work closely with internal teams and external suppliers to drive efficient, cost-effective purchasing strategies aligned with program objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with program managers and stakeholders to develop effective procurement strategies.
- Assess supplier capabilities, lead negotiations, and conduct cost and price analysis.
- Negotiate contract terms, pricing, and conditions in compliance with FAR/DFARS guidelines.
- Track contract performance, deliverables, and address any issues or variances.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and external partners.
- Ensure adherence to procurement policies, regulatory requirements, and proper documentation.
- Perform market research to identify potential suppliers and industry trends.
- Conduct financial analysis to support budgeting and cost-effective purchasing decisions.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams (finance, legal, program management) and provide regular reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.
Solid understanding of federal procurement regulations including FAR, DFARS, and DCMA guidelines.
- Prior experience in procurement or purchasing, ideally within government or defense environments.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Excellent analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Hands-on experience with procurement systems and ERP platforms.
