About the role
Join a multidisciplinary engineering team supporting the design and development of complex electronic and electrical systems for advanced instrumentation products. This role focuses on hardware design, power systems, PCB development, EMC compliance, and system-level electrical engineering activities.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in analog/digital circuit design, FPGA development, and electronic hardware design within regulated or high-reliability environments.
Key Responsibilities
Design electrical and electronic hardware systems for advanced instrumentation products
Support development of:
- Power systems
- PCBA designs
- Cable/harness assemblies
- EMC-compliant electrical systems
- Develop schematics, specifications, BOMs, and engineering documentation
- Support FPGA and VHDL design activities
- Perform digital and analog circuit design
- Support schematic capture and PCB design activities
- Design and support instrument power systems (AC/DC)
- Support EMC/EMI compliance and grounding strategies
- Evaluate design feasibility and recommend optimal system architectures
- Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to resolve technical issues
- Develop and evaluate breadboards, prototypes, and validation testing activities
- Support transition from development into production
- Troubleshoot manufacturing and customer application issues
- Support DFM/DFT initiatives and continuous improvement activities
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship when required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Required)
- 5 years of professional electrical engineering experience
- Experience with FPGA and VHDL design
- Strong experience with analog and digital circuit design
- Experience with schematic capture and PCB design
- Experience designing AC/DC power systems
- Experience supporting EMC/EMI compliance
- Experience designing cable assemblies and grounding systems
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Strong technical communication and documentation skills
- Experience collaborating in multidisciplinary engineering environments
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in:
- Medical Device
- Defense
- Automation industries
- Experience with electromechanical systems
- Experience supporting stepper and servo motor systems
- Experience supporting product development through manufacturing transition
- Experience supporting high-reliability electronic systems
Compensation
- Estimated hourly range: $85–$90/hr (W-2)
- Flexibility available for highly qualified candidates
- Final rate will be based on skills, experience, and interview results.
