Accounting Manager – GAAP, SOX Compliance & Team Leadership
Location: Greater Chelmsford, MA Area (Hybrid – 4 days onsite, 1 day remote)
Employment Type: Contract (3 months, with possible extension)

About the Role
Lead the US and Canada accounting functions while managing a team of 4 accounting professionals. Oversee financial reporting, monthly close, GAAP compliance, SOX controls, and continuous process improvement while partnering with regional management and corporate teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, expense reimbursements, and corporate card programs.
- Lead the monthly financial close and reporting process, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Manage, coach, and develop a team of 4 accounting professionals.
- Maintain SOX compliance, accounting controls, policies, and procedures.
- Coordinate internal controls, external audits, and local tax audits.
- Review journal entries, accrual assumptions, and operating expense analyses; collaborate with FP&A on annual financial planning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
- 7–10 years of finance or accounting experience.
- 5 years of management experience, including team leadership and employee development.
- Thorough knowledge of GAAP and SOX compliance.
- Experience managing monthly close, financial reporting, and accounting controls.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Compensation (MA Pay Transparency)
- Estimated hourly range: $65-$70/hr (W-2).
- Final rate will be based on skills, experience, and interview results.
