The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator is responsible for managing the flow of incoming and outgoing goods at JLS. This role ensures that shipments are accurately received, inspected, documented, and stored, and that outgoing shipments are properly packaged, labeled, and dispatched on time. The coordinator works closely with materials team, operations, service/aftermarket, and other warehouse staff to maintain efficient and organized operations.

The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator is responsible for managing the flow of incoming and outgoing goods at JLS. This role ensures that shipments are accurately received, inspected, documented, and stored, and that outgoing shipments are properly packaged, labeled, and dispatched on time. The coordinator works closely with materials team, operations, service/aftermarket, and other warehouse staff to maintain efficient and organized operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prioritize and delegate daily work assignments.
- Initiate inventory cycle counts per JLS procedure. Reconciliation results as needed while working with materials and accounting team. Open communication to materials team when exceptions arise.
- Schedule and coordinate trucks for TL & LTL pick-ups and deliveries.
- Follow JLS shipment procedures.
- Communicate details to JLS teams.
- Maintain MRO items for picking, packing, shipping and inventory control.
- Drive continuous improvement efforts in the shipping and receiving department: ensure robust communication with all stakeholders regarding any process changes.
- Maintain organized inventory storage racks and utilizing FIFO.
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders or invoices.
- Report any discrepancies, damages, or inventory issues promptly through JLS rejections process.
- Ability to accurately perform inventory transactions while picking and kitting components according to system demands.
- Prepare and package outgoing shipments according to company and carrier standards.
- Label and tag shipments with appropriate shipping information.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, or other warehouse equipment safely.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping/receiving area.
- Ensure adherence to JLS safety standards and programs: proactively identify and mitigate potential safety risks in area, working in conjunction with JLS safety manager.
- Performs other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and organization.
- High School diploma or GED
- 5-7 years of related work experience
- Valid driver’s license
- Forklift experience or ability to obtain certification
- Experience with shipping software (FedEx, UPS, USPS, DHL, etc.), expedited courier services, set up LTL shipments, and international freight & customs documents.
- Proficient computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft business suite.
- Experience with ERP system required (Infor software experience is a plus).
- This person will be one of our ERP system super users (training provided).

- Physical: Lift, push, pull-up to 50 pounds; fine manual dexterity; ability to stand for long periods of time; ability to stoop, bend, and lift frequently.
- Work Schedule: 7:30 am – 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday, additional hours as needed
