As a Shipping Clerk at JLL, you will serve as a critical link in our supply chain operations, managing the outbound flow of goods from our warehouse, distribution center, or manufacturing facility. What your day-to-day will look like:
- Pack, seal, weigh, and label outgoing goods according to company standards and customer specifications
- Generate and verify shipping documentation including Bills of Lading (BOL), invoices, packing slips, and customs forms
- Schedule freight pickups with carriers such as UPS, FedEx, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers, and maintain delivery status updates
- Cross-check physical inventory against sales orders, picking lists, and system records to prevent fulfillment errors
- Enter shipping data and track orders using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, or spreadsheets
- Address transit issues, document damaged items, track delayed shipments, and resolve customer or driver complaints
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe loading dock or packing station to ensure smooth workflow and compliance with safety regulations
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Proficiency with computer systems, including shipping software (e.g., FedEx Ship Manager, UPS WorldShip), Microsoft Excel, and RF scanners
- 1–2 years of experience in retail, logistics, manufacturing, or warehouse environments
- Certification to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or order pickers
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) platforms
- Demonstrated ability to manage time effectively and handle tight pickup schedules during high-volume periods
- Basic knowledge of customs documentation and international shipping procedures
- Ability to lift heavy packages up to 50 lbs, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods on concrete floors
- Strong attention to detail with ability to meticulously verify SKU numbers, quantities, and shipping addresses
- Effective verbal communication skills to collaborate with truck drivers, warehouse associates, and customer service teams
